Dessert isn’t just found at the bottom of a menu – London has plenty of café’s and dessert houses dedicated purely to the sweet stuff. Creams Café is a chain with locations in London, Surrey and Middlesex. It’s one of my favourites and has been since last year when a group of my friends took me to the Southall Branch – quite far from where I live. However, the company is expanding rather rapidly with plans to build in cities across the UK and spread their sugary goodness in Central London. Luckily for me, I live quite close to the Creams in my town so I am able to enjoy a sea of desserts, from milkshakes to ice cream, waffles, sundaes, crepes and cakes. The desserts are artfully delectable and attractive ensuring you get the “wow” factor.
As your quickly seated and presented with an absolutely huge menu with lots of choice, there is a mouth watering option of 16 different ice cream sundaes, crepes filled with sticky sauces and warm waffles covered in fresh fruit and served with ice cream flavours you couldn’t possibly imagine. Choosing is a complete nightmare because everything sounds so good each time I make a return! All desserts are priced between about £4.00-£7.00, although if you fancy a Birthday Extravaganza of 15 scoops of ice cream on a bed of waffles with fresh whipped cream, syrups, 3 types of wafers and 5 types of sprinkles, that will set you back £27.95. Well I was considering the Birthday Extravaganza but it wasn’t my birthday so in the end I opted for the White Chocolate Indulgence Waffle served with cherry ice cream, drenched in strawberry sauce. My friend had a Belgium White Chocolate Crepe served with banana flavour ice-cream.
If your a first-timer you will probably want to stick to the basics set menus. If your willing to spend a little extra to brighten up your treat, you can add extra scoops of ice-cream or fruit. You can add toppings like oreos, nuts, nutella, whipped cream and syrups. Whilst waiting for you lovely desserts to arrive you’re surrounded by an American style décor set out like an American Diner with lots of black and pink and neon lights. I love the colour combinations but it also means that the café is quite dark.
